How can I sign up?

StreetWise Partners does not have automatic enrollment- we have two part online application, and an interview process.

Is this program really free?

Yes. There are no hidden fees or service costs- tuition and materials, including our textbook, are provided to you for free if you are accepted to the program. Our corporate partners provide funding so we can offer this program, valued at $2000, free of cost to you if you are accepted.

What is the difference between Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday programs?

Because of the high demand of our programs, we now offer programs for adults on Tuesday night, Wednesday night, and Saturdays in New York, and on Wednesday nights and Saturdays for adults and young adults in Washington, DC. In New York we have one program for Young Adults on Wednesday night. In Jersey City, we offer a program for everyone over 18 on Tuesday night.

These different dates and times provide options for different people's schedules, but the program curriculum and calendar are the same.

If you're not sure which program you want to apply to, apply for either now- you can come to our next Open House and we'll help you decide which program is best for you based on your schedule and needs.

How do I know if this is right for me?

We work with motivated people from many different backgrounds and all levels of education through Bachelor's Degree- but our goal is to help you if you don't have the resources others have to find a job and plan a career- not just financial resources, but human resources.

If you recently graduated from a college with good alumni services and a network in New York, have family and friends who can support you and help connect you to the professional world, and have a good understanding of the skills we teach, this program is not a good fit for you. We are looking to work with people who do not have these resources, who need our services the most.

Do you work with people with criminal records?

If you are motivated to improve your situation, and get selected for a place in the program, we will work with you. Please let us know in your application if you have a criminal record, so we can find the right mentors to work with you effectively in developing your job search strategy- you will not be turned away because of your record.

What happens when I finish the program? Will you find me a job?

StreetWise Partners does not provide job placement services at this time, and we do not guarantee that you will find a job while in our program. We believe that with the support and guidance of your mentors, an awareness of what opportunities are out there, and with an expanded professional network, you can conduct your own job search effectively- and our graduates will tell you the same.

In general, 60% of mentees secure a new position, and advanced position, a pay-rise, or engage with another educational opportunity through our programs. This is often increased up to 75% by 6 months after program enrollment. It is not just about getting you a job, but getting you the right job.

Can I apply to the adult program if I'm a young adult?

If you have a school or work conflict that prevents you from taking place in our Young Adult program and can provide a note from an academic advisor or supervisor, you may apply to the adult program.

Adults over the age of 25 may not apply to the Young Adult Program, but there should not be a need to- we offer a program for adults on the same day of the week as our Young Adult Program. Information about upcoming programs is listed on the Upcoming Dates page.
